Designing the mosque in Birmingham was a truly inspiring journey. The city itself is a dynamic mix of cultures, histories, and architectural styles — this project was an opportunity to create a space that responds to the needs of the local Muslim community while celebrating the rich, diverse fabric of the city.
The approach was deeply rooted in the idea of creating a place of both spiritual serenity and community engagement. The mosque is not just a place for prayer, but a center for reflection, learning, and connection — a beacon for the community and a gathering space for people of all backgrounds.
The golden dome rises above the roofline as a landmark visible from the surrounding streets, while the materiality — warm brick, refined detailing — grounds the building firmly in its neighbourhood context.
