The architecture studio in Karlin, Prague, speaks directly to the identity of the neighbourhood — one that is rapidly evolving, blending old industrial roots with new creative energy. Designing this space was an opportunity to contribute to Karlin's transformation while creating an environment that embodies the values of the practice: creativity, collaboration, and a deep respect for the built environment.
The space is open and airy, with large windows that let in an abundance of natural light. In a busy urban area, the goal was to create a sense of serenity and openness inside. Glass walls and light, natural materials like wood and concrete create a sense of flow — blurring the boundaries between spaces and encouraging interaction.
There is a sense of transparency throughout the studio — both physically and conceptually. The studio becomes a stage for the work being made, visible from the street and connected to the life of the neighbourhood around it.
