The design sought to create a home that responds to both the region's natural beauty and the desire for contemporary, minimalist living. Located in the tranquil countryside surrounding Montevideo, the house was envisioned as a serene retreat that embraces the natural landscape while offering all the comforts of modern architecture.
The site is located in Canelones, a region known for its vineyards, agricultural land, and sprawling open views. The house is designed to be unobtrusive in the landscape — nestled into the topography with a low-profile, long horizontal form that allows it to be a quiet presence in its surroundings.
The exterior is dominated by raw, exposed concrete — an intentional choice that reflects both modernity and timelessness. Concrete was chosen not only for its durability and aesthetic appeal but also for its thermal mass properties, helping to regulate the home's internal temperature across hot summers and cooler winters.
