Designing the mosque in Birmingham was a truly inspiring journey. The city itself is a dynamic mix of cultures, histories, and architectural styles, and I saw this project as an opportunity to create a space that not only responds to the needs of the local Muslim community but also celebrates the rich, diverse fabric of the city.
From the outset, my approach to the mosque was deeply rooted in the idea of creating a place of both spiritual serenity and community engagement. The mosque is not just a place for prayer, but a center for reflection, learning, and connection. It had to serve as a beacon for the community—both a sanctuary for worship and a gathering space for people of all backgrounds.
